In previous years, the donations made from the Hoops for Hope charity event have gone towards fun activities for the kids, as well as to the Lloyd House.
The Lloyd House is named after former director, Kirby Lloyd. That home is on the Evans Home property, and "houses residents who have finished high school, but need a place to help them get on their feet. They can live there as long as they work and save money for their own place."
Throughout the year, Hood-Love members organize many events to bring people together, and uplift the community. They collaborate with the Youth Development Center, hosting fun gatherings with local musicians, and with the City of Winchester for important events such as the inaugural Juneteenth Celebration, just to name a few.
Hood-Love's Facebook page is regularly updated with events happening in our area, and ways to support the community.
The Easter egg hunts, visits from Santa and Trunk-or-Treat celebrations are fun for everyone! Hood-Love also actively participates in the annual Family Day summer event, sponsoring the basketball tournament, and distributing school supplies to children for the upcoming year.
All donations will be given to the Evans Home for Children and Hood Love, two organizations that strive to make the community a better place for our youth.
